Head of Sixth Form Welcome

A warm welcome to St. Aidan’s and St. Anthony’s Catholic Sixth Form. We are very proud of our heritage of providing first-rate education for generations of Sunderland’s young people. We are a vibrant, diverse and exciting community with a wealth of experience in helping to guide students through to their next stage. Our aim is to pursue excellence and we have an excellent record of academic achievement and success. We aim to provide a supportive and engaging environment in which every student can succeed and fulfil their God given potential.

Making an informed choice about post 16 provision is one of the most important decisions that students and their families can make. By choosing St. Aidan’s & St. Anthony’s Catholic Sixth Form, you will be making a decision that will help ensure a safe passage to the wider world of higher education, apprenticeship or employment. We offer a wide range of over 30 high quality courses, where students have the flexibility to study a combination of both traditional A Level and contemporary BTEC vocational qualifications. We offer an extensive range of enrichment opportunities which complement study and develop leadership opportunities for our students. St. Aidan’s & St. Anthony’s Catholic Sixth Form is fully committed to delivering the highest educational provision and enabling our students to meet their aspirations.

Many of our former students have progressed on to highly competitive courses at the most prestigious Universities, and we are immensely proud to have a growing number of highly skilled and employed alumni. We offer students a high level of support as they meet the demands placed upon them by post 16 study and help them seamlessly bridge the gap between Year 11 and sixth form entry. We offer a team of dedicated and experienced form tutors, pastoral leads and a Head of Sixth Form who know each student as the individual they are. Our students leave our care as resilient, confident and well-rounded individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in adult life.
