Head Girl

Sarah Knight

I am currently studying History, Chemistry and Fine Art at Sixth Form. I hope to continue with these subjects at university, initially studying History of Art before progressing towards a career in art restoration. Through the opportunities provided by Sixth Form including completing an EPQ and Crest Award, I have been able to gain further experience in these subjects before choosing to study them at university level. St Anthony’s and St. Aidan’s Sixth Form has helped to prepare me for the future thanks to the constant support from the pastoral team and subject teachers.

I have also been encouraged to continue and develop my extra-curricular activities.  In particular my commitment to running, from initially representing the school, I have progressed to county and regional level and then on to the in the English Schools’ Championships. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the staff in helping me to find a balance between my work and activities outside of school.

St Anthony’s and St. Aidan’s focuses on the importance of pupils being actively involved in the local community and with the help of the chaplaincy team, I have been able to complete my John Paul II Gold Award along with becoming a CAFOD Young Leader. Support such as this continues to be shown throughout Sixth Form, as fundraisers and charity events are actively encouraged, with both pupil and staff involvement.

I am looking forward to the work to come in my year as Head Girl and all the opportunities that St Anthony’s and St. Aidan’s Sixth Form has to offer.

Head Boy

Michael Nidea

During the six years that I have been at St Aidan’s Catholic Academy I feel that I have developed so much both academically and on a personal level.

I am currently studying Mathematics, Physics and Business for A Level and I am now in my last year of Sixth Form.  I have gained many skills and knowledge that will help me to pursue the career I want in the Engineering industry. St Aidan’s and St Anthony’s sixth form has given me countless opportunities to guide me towards my future career path including several UCAS events, taster lectures and an exciting visit to Cambridge University.

The role of Head Boy is an honour and a privilege and I feel that I have been well supported by the staff and students. This is a vital position and with the Head Girl – Sarah Knight, we want to work together to continue the tradition of fund raising for charity and organising the leavers ball.

Sarah and I have the help of both the Student Council and the supportive staff of both St Aidan’s and St Anthony’s who are always there for us. In our Sixth Form, everyone looks out for each other and I strongly believe it’s the sense of community that makes us unique.

St Aidan’s has not only guided my education but has helped me to progress over the years, without the help of the staff I wouldn’t be who I am today. Most importantly, I have acquired unforgettable memories that I will treasure forever, wherever I may go in the future.
